During its most recent Made by Google hardware event on Tuesday, Google unveiled the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, launching the company’s first foldable Pixel phone in India. It is one of four Google Pixel 9 series handsets that have been released in the nation this year and the second foldable to join the Pixel collection.

Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Price and Availability in India-
The recently announced Pixel 9 series will be sold through Flipkart, Croma, and Reliance Digital retail locations, in comparison to the previous smartphone versions that were only accessible on Flipkart. Google reports that on August 22, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will finally be available for purchase in India.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will go on sale at Rs. 1,72,999 in India, according to the firm. There will be only one 16GB+256GB RAM and storage option available for this foldable smartphone. It will be available in porcelain and obsidian color variants.
Customers can now buy the Pixel 9 Pro Fold via walk-in centers in Bengaluru and Delhi that are run by Google. Another is scheduled to open in Mumbai at a later time.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Specs and Key Features-
An 8-inch (2,076×2,152 pixel) LTPO OLED Super Actual Flex inner screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a maximum brightness of 2,700nits has been placed by Google into the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It has a 6.3-inch (1,080×2,424 pixel) OLED Actual display on the outside that has the same peak brightness as the inner panel, a 120Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
The recently released Pixel 9 Pro Fold is a dual-SIM (Nano+eSIM) smartphone that comes pre-installed with Android 14 and is expected to get security, operating system, and Pixel Drop upgrades for seven years. The phone is powered by the Titan M2 security coprocessor and Google’s Tensor G4 chipset, which are combined with 16GB of RAM.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s exterior features include a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera with an f/1.7 aperture, a 10.5-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture and autofocus, and a 10.8-megapixel telephoto camera with a 20x Super Res Zoom, an f/3.1 aperture, and an optical zoom of up to 5x. There is optical and electrical picture stabilization on both the telephoto and wide-angle cameras.
On the cover screen, we find a 10-megapixel camera with f.2.2 aperture, while the internal screen also has a 10-megapixel camera with the same aperture. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold offers several camera and editing features exclusive to Google phones, including Add Me, hands-free astrophotography, Face Unlock, Top Shot, Frequent Faces, Video Boost, Wind Noise Reduction, Magic Eraser Audio, Video with macro focus, “Made” You Look and Magic Editor.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold comes in a single 256GB internal storage variant in India, though customers in the US and other regions can also get a 512GB variant Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, ultrasound-Wideband ports, and USB 3.2 Type-C. Onboard sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, electronic compass, barometer, and proximity sensor.
The battery capacity of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is 4650mAh. It is charged via a PPS charger, 45W, and Qi wireless. It is capable of biometric authentication based on face and fingerprint; the IPX8 rating is for water resistance.
